Trace Selby is hired by the wealthy to retrieve stolen valuable items, but killing goes against everything Trace believes in. However, when threatened, he does it swiftly and without remorse. Trace carries a heavy shadowy burden, the emptiness of love lost. Over the years he has replaced that emptiness in his life with his gun and the hunt for other lonely men who have stolen from others to fill their emptiness.
When reunited with his lost love Jennifer, it gives them a second chance to recapture the innocent love of their youth. Everything seems so right for the rekindled lost love. Her husband, Gerard plans a conspiracy to have Trace kill his two renegade sons who threaten his lucrative management position at the Pitney ranch. Once that is accomplished, Gerard plans to have Trace killed, divorce Jennifer and have the young virgin daughter of his mistress as his personal concubine.
